Roland Kuit SoundLab II Mr Kuit is one of three very very talented modular gurus (the other 2 being Rob Hordijk and Tim Kleinert) – they all do very deep work and really go beyond the limits of the synth, in this case of course the Clavia Modular series which is unfortunately no longer available atm, but we all hope for a G3 sample-able synth since they got a sample engine and the cool G2 which must not be changed that much to still be cool – of course it’s nerdy…

2 more modules spotted on NAMM from Make Noise and Harvestman, both known for interesting modules – Harvestman is analog this time! – but first the Make Noise one: it’s a syncable dual oscillator and Harvestman has a new (analog) filter called Bionic Lester – bitcruher-filter combination in sonic result. lpf and bpf outputs and also has all passes which are interesting (you may know the Oberheim Xpander / Matrix 12 APF filter combinations) – listen: – there’s a a new Tyme Safari mk3 in here, 4-16 bit capable oscillator…

There’s also interesting modules at NAMM. The Mega Wave from Malekko, a Schippmann Filter Module, 600€ – one of the most expensive filter modules – that is – (remember Ebbe+Flut, EbbeFlut subtractive,filterbox!) and XAOC got a little sequencer and wavetable oscillator called tabula rasa. pics: triggered via Matrixsynth & Forum • Namm 2012. and here’s another modules bei WMD (the geiger counter people)

Fonitronik music electronics. found these interesting non-NAMM Fonitronic Modules – both are special and not seen so far – so .. • the ADC Pattern Sequencer with 8 steps and • the helpful looking VC Modulator – possibly sort of VCA or let put it – a voltage controlled attenuator plus X..

Pittsburgh Modular – Fragments Generator is a Eurorack Module, it’s sound generator is a set or certain quantity of ticks or pulses – so it reminds of a drumsynth for „(Hand)Claps“ to have that „multiple slap“ thing in it to resonate in a filter behind the generator. it’s about „density“ and grain sizes here, so it’s abviously inspired by granular synthesis – not the sample-grain stuff – it’s more the original grain cloud idea of having multiple clicks to become „noises“ whether they are dense and tuned in a „swarm“ of…
