ABOUT Tom Oberheim founded a new company (which is already dead for years.) , he hat to compete with the company that used his name.. this is a real Oberheim and quite close to a Matrix 6 / Matrix 6R. Well the MSR2 was a mainframe for 2 synth modules,in fact the only available module was the ASM8 (analog synthesizer module), other planned modules never came onto the market (sampling etc.). the MSR2 had 2 slots , a 7band EQ and a mixer.
ABOUT Tom Oberheim gründete eine neue Firma: Marion (inzwischen auch tot) und hatte faktisch mit einem Instrument konkurriert, was seinen Namen trug, dies ist also ein echter Oberheim und sehr nahe an den Möglichkeiten des Matrix 6 (oder genauer Matrix 6R). Der MSR2 war eigentlich ein Mainfraime für 2 Module wie das ASM8, dem eigentlichen Synthesizer plus 7band EQ und mixer, nur kamen nie andere Module wie Sampler und FM Synth aus, die ansich geplant waren..

DETAILS 8 voices and HROs (high resolution oscillators) used in here, midi control, the rest is quite like the Matrix 6, this mainframe can hold up to 2 complete ASMs (16 voices) and a main graphic EQ. planned: sample player, wavetable synth, FX, FM?.. - Module never came up.. has triangle to saw morphing.
DETAILS 8 stimmen, HROs (high resolution oscillators) und 8 Stimmen, ansonsten wie Matrix 6 inkl midi-Steuerung. Dieses Modul hat faktisch 2x 8 Stimmen an Bord oder nur ein ASM Board, da es bis heute kein anderes wirklich zu kaufen gab.. geplant waren damals sample player, wavetable synth, FX, FM?.. - Module, aber sie kamen leider nie.. hat ebenfalls säge zu dreieck-morphing

SOUND very flexible Synth with one of the best and wide / fat sounds ever heard, only one thing: it''s not made for very fast percussive sounds. slow envelopes.
SOUND kann eigentlich alles, toller klang vergleichbar mit Matrix 6 - flächen und co.. langsame Hüllkurven.

VERSION Marion Prosynth (same as one ASM module in MSR2) or MSR2, alternative: Matrix 1000 (computer needed for edits), Matrix 6 or 6R -- there was a hardware upgrade for speeding up the slow envelopes (3times faster).

Tom Oberheims other try to sell synthesizers which where quite a lot like the Oberheim Matrix 6 and another one in a mainframe system (allowed 2 of them). well no other modules ever made it and Marion was soon not such a big success. no idea what he's doing today.DER HERSTELLER

Der echte Tom Oberheim versuchte nach dem OB-Mx eine neue Firma und baute einen dem Matrix 6 nicht unähnlichen Synthesizer und eine weitere Variante in einem Mainframe, es floppte ziemlich.
