Boing Boing: new Coldplay CD has rules: No MP3s, no DVD players, no car stereos

Du you like CDs? here is a special one with rules: no converting to mp3, no playing in cars (!), no playing on any computer! (they do not mention Linux, so maybe you are allowed to play it on a Linux machine.. btw: since I do not own a CD player I would not be allowed to play it! so why do they say it,, when you’ve already bought it?

is this legal to do „after sales“ without the right to give it back to the shop? just one thing: my CDs will be without copy protection of any kind.. like the regression CD and gedankenrauschen and all compilations.. (10€ each). hey, it’s now a feature not to have anti-person-technologies!!

I don’t think they asked coldplay to do that.. as always the artist is the last one who has too much advantage of all those new ideas..

in deutsch: wieso EMI denkt, Kopierschutz sei wichtig.. manches kann man nachvollziehen, die MITTEL und WEGE sind aber wohl kaum akzeptabel..
