   a Buchla 259e is basically 2 OSCs – one sine wave modulating saw/pulse of another second oscillator – as frequency modulation or controlling it’s phase, also it has memory to do something reminiscent of wavetables because even the orginal is digital and therefore does a bit more than the usual analog ones. it’s a typical west coast module like harvestman or endorphin.es „cloned“ it or brought it to the eurorack world – but this is for the $99 softube modular and charges $99 – the high pricing makes very detailed modules and simulations possible.das Softube Modular muss man bereits haben ($99) und das Modul für nochmal $99 – das ist sicher nicht billig für virtuelle Angebote, aber gerade bei digitalen Modulen ist das auch einfacher – Soft/Hardsync und einem Sinusoszillator, der FM oder Phasenmodulation mit dem zweiten Oszillator machen kann und einige Wellen speichern kann, um eine Art Wavetable-Eindruck zu hinterlassen – Das sind die Möglichkeiten die dem Westküsten-Denken (wir hatten ja mal ein SynMag Sonderheft nur für Westküsten-Maschinen gemacht)- und sicher ist FM die bekannteste Standardbetriebsart.2. und dann sind da noch die Module von ACL, wirklich nicht billig – denn sie liegen kaum unter 400€ und mehr…
   Aber sie haben eine hohe Qualität, die dem Hersteller sehr wichtig sind und eine Cwejman-Roland SH-Optik die recht ansprechend ist. Die Module selbst sind „klassisch“ —

on the other hand – the very high quality – ACL modules – there is almost none of those under 400€. But their looks is very tempting, very Roland SH / System 100’ish or a bit Cwejman’ish. They are more classic – but ACL are very very keen on super high quality, so these don’t feel quirky.
