\nEin weiterer Vertreter aus der Moogerfooger \u2013 Reihe von Robert \u201eBob\u201c Moogs Firma Bigbriar.<\/p>\n

Ein Ringmodulator ist ja, wer gut aufgepasst hat etwas was nicht \u201etypisch\u201c Moog ist. Viele Moogmodelle hatten keinen, bis auf wenige Ausnahmen wie der Moog Liberation und die modularen Systeme, obwohl er grade bei DIESEM Modell ausserordentlich bemerkenswert ist. Also: Warum nicht einen externen Originalmoogringmodulator?<\/p>\n

Ringmodulation? Hat das was mit heiraten oder Vogelkunde zu tun?
\nEin Ringmodulator bildet aus zwei Eingangsignalen die Summe und die Differenz der Frequenzen der beiden Quellen metallische und glockenartige Klangspektren. Es dient also der Dreckerzeugung auf sauberem deutschen biologisch abbaubaren Klang-Teppichen..<\/p>\n

Es bietet sich also selbstredend an, das gute St\u00fcck mit einem Synthesizer zu verwenden, es geht aber auch um spezielle \u201espacige\u201c bis \u201ekranke\u201c oder \u201eRoboter\u2013Stimmeneffekte\u201c zu bekommen.
\nDer Aufbau und das Aussehen ist bei den Moogerfoogern besonders mit dem MF101 (Lowpass-Filter) nahezu identisch. Dies ist aber lediglich eine \u00c4u\u00dferlichkeit und die Schalter sind blau (wieder Minimooglike, obwohl dieser ja bekanntlich keinen Ringmodulator hat).
\n
\nDie Schalter und Kn\u00f6pfe haben zudem ganz andere Funktionen, au\u00dfer Drive, mit dem man das Eingangsignal bequem einpegeln kann (farbige LEDs weisen auch hier den Weg, wie im MF101, also keine Chance f\u00fcr ungesehene \u00dcbersteuerung). Eine Anzerrung ist bei genug Pegel machbar, wenn es auch nicht beabsichtigt ist. Aber eben m\u00f6glich, logisch das eine Gitarre weniger Pegel hat und somit auch weniger Verzerrungsheadroom auskommen muss.<\/p>\n

Nun habe ich doch im Anfang von zwei Signalen gefaselt, die ein Ringmodulator braucht. Das ist auch tats\u00e4chlich so. Im MF103 arbeitet ein Sinus-Oszillator der einen weithin regelbaren Bereich hat, denn er kann mittels Schalter von 2Hz bis 4kHz eingestellt werden: Es gibt einen niedrigen Frequenzbereich (OSC arbeitet als LFO, der aber in den Audiobereich hineinragt (130Hz) und einen hohen Bereich, der bei 60 Hz startet und bei ebengenannten 4kHz endet).<\/p>\n

Damit nicht genug, ein alternatives Signal kann aussen durch den AUX-Weg in den Ringmodulator eingespeist werden. Man mu\u00df also nicht unbedingt den Oszillator benutzen.<\/p>\n

Die Anschl\u00fcsse sind auch beim MF103 sehr komplett und erlauben sogar ein abgreifen des internen LFOs. Die Geschwindigkeit und St\u00e4rke des LFOs wie auch der Mix zwischen Trockensignal und Ringmodulator ist ebenfalls von aussen per Steuerspannung oder Fu\u00dfpedal steuerbar (Modularsysteme freuen sich, denn auch der Oszillator ist rausgef\u00fchrt (Carrier out)).<\/p>\n

Ja, LFO??<\/p>\n

Damit sind auch weitere der sch\u00f6nen \u201eAltretro-Moog\u201c-Drehregler schon erw\u00e4hnt und leicht beschrieben: LFO Geschwindigkeit und St\u00e4rke der nat\u00fcrlich auf den Oszillator wirkt (Zartes Tremolo bis Monstermodulation inbegriffen). Mit dem Kippschalter kann man die Wellenform des LFOs zwischen Sinus und Rechteck umschalten.<\/p>\n

Grade bei einem (analogen) Ringmodulator will ich kurz nocheinmal den vollen runden und artefaktfreien Klang empfehlen, den man someist eben nicht mit digitalen Ger\u00e4ten erzeugen kann. Gerade auch bei Synthesizersounds interessante klangliche M\u00f6glichkeiten bietet dieser Ringmodulator. Bei Stimmen kann man die machbaren Effekte von \u201eZerhacken\u201c bis \u201eVerfemden\u201c oder \u201eTremoloisieren\u201c nur ann\u00e4hernd beschreiben. Eine -einmal andere- Variante zu Pitchshiftern: Man kann mit den entsprechenden Reglerstellungen einen unmenschlichen bis niedlichen Sound f\u00fcr die Stimme hinbekommen.
\n(Schneller LFO aber tiefe\/hohe OSC-Frequenz)
\nAlso vom \u201eriesigen elektrischen Generator\u201c f\u00fcr Humanoiden, die gerne einmal die Stimme der Energie sein wollen bis zu \u201e\u00e4rgerlichen\u201c Robotern, die sich Musikstile wie EBM,Industrial,Experimental-Electro, Synthpop erw\u00e4hlt haben wird einiges geboten. Auch in der \u201efriedlichen\u201c Nutzung gibt es Anwendungen, wenn man den Tr\u00e4geroszillator ein wenig h\u00f6her dreht.. und mit dem LFO in niedrigeren Bereichen ein wenig experimentiert.
\nUnd dies sind nur EINIGE der M\u00f6glichkeiten.. Denn es gibt ja auch noch Drumloops und Synthesizersound oder Gitarren oder…<\/p>\n

Beispiel? Eine 303 bekommt einen wirklich \u201emodernen\u201c Klang und verliert seine Altbackenheit (303-Fans m\u00f6gen mir verzeihen).
\nEin Drumloop bekommt einen anderen Charakter aufgepr\u00e4gt ohne seinen eigentlichen Groove zu verlieren, es klingt einfach weniger geklaut (falls man es nicht so macht wie ich und fremde Loops verwendet, k\u00f6nnte das besonder interessant sein um ein wenig pers\u00f6nliche Note hineinzubringen).<\/p>\n
