Dieses Wort sollte man heute eigentlich meiden, besonders in der Kombination <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">&#8222;Firma x bringt einen neuen Standard&#8220; ;)<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Wieso? Weil ein <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standard<\/span> wirklich genau das ist, eine einheitliche Norm, die alle einhalten.\u00a0Wie man das nur ausspricht? Web&#8217;em! Web-Em? Egal, open source ist ja immer gut. Google belebt jetzt ein wenig den Markt. Und wie? Nun, die Browser k\u00f6nnen das noch nicht, deshalb werden jetzt die Browser nachliefern, damit das \u00fcberhaupt funktioniert und wie schnell wird das Form f\u00fcr alle ok sein? Es gibt sicher noch ein paar, die nicht t\u00e4glich neue Browser installieren. Es mag sogar noch IE6 Nutzer geben. Wird bestimmt spannend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Web&#8216; Em away!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Was zur Zeit passiert ist, dass Apple, Adobe, Google und Co um Videoformate rangeln. Wieso? Weil das Marktmacht bedeutet und wer die Formathoheit besitzt ist K\u00f6nig. Das ist ja sch\u00f6n und belebt vielleicht das Gesch\u00e4ft bez\u00fcglich Apple und Co, da die diesbez\u00fcglich mit Flash mithusten wollen. Tja, nun haben wir einen sch\u00f6nen kleinen Formatkrieg. Das bedeutet nur, dass wir soundsoviele Plugins und Sonderprogramme brauchen, damit das Format XY in das andere gewandelt wird. Andere Firmen werden dieses Format meiden, auch wenn es frei ist, damit sie Geld verdienen. Ganz andere f\u00f6rdern am liebsten nur das oder bieten eine Teill\u00f6sung. Dieses WebM Format ist zwar offen und im Gegensatz zu H264 lizenzfrei.Aber die Verabredungen der Firmen und Hersteller sind hierbei entscheidender, was bei uns dann auf dem Tisch landet. Das haben die vorher n\u00e4mlich schon besprochen und ihre Lobbygelder eingeworfen. Einige (die meisten) Firmen sitzen bei H264 mit drin, Ogg hat niemand lieb &#8211; ist aber frei, aber niemand verdient was damit und Google kaufte sich k\u00fcrzlich die Firma und damit dieses WebM Format. Youtube und WebM k\u00f6nnte allein schon eine Marktmacht sein und Googles Antwort auf den ewigen Streit zwischen Apple, Adobe und dem Abwarten von MS.<\/p>\n<p>Um mit den Worten von James T.Kirk zu sprechen: Das wird sicher ein Spa\u00df. Wir sind die Kunden.
