I am a little confused as to if there is any difference between the TBS drm-1 and the vermona drm-1 mk2 - the latter is a newer product i understand. and the tbs drm-1 was franchised to TBS but the cooperation discontinued. are they the same machine (except that the vermona one is more good looking) or is the mk2 different?

vielen dank!

well tbs was something called touched by sound, http://www.sequencer.de/syns/vermona Vermona produced the first drm for them under the tbs name, the mk2 is a re-visited version of that machine, it wasn't the same but sort of a predecessor ..

they ARE different, they improved most sections..

Thanks! Do you have any idea of what improvements were made?

there were 2 changes on the instruments afaik.. I do not really remember it correctly..

here's the first one (TBS)

and the current one:
www.Sequencer.de/vermona/vermona_drm1.html
it's both: the same number of knobs/parameters but it is in fact improved, they call it mk2 not drm2 because it is not that much..

the new one has phones out and a bit higher overall quality..
so if you get the tbs version: it's also good/ok..

it's really not that extreme difference..
I listened to the "old" one, and it sounded good, too..
it's some time ago now.. so I can't tell the EXACT difference..

on the vermona DRM you can use the single channel outputs as inserts, the tbs/mam syncussion drm don't have this feature

I have the TBS version and its a good piece. There is a bit of crosstalk between the channels and it can be slightly noisey. They changed that for the mk2. The mk2 also has a power switch on the front. Also, the mk2 has 2 cymbal/hihat combo channels where as the mk1 has one cymbal and 1 hihat channel. The new one is a bit more versatile because of it. The mk2 also has an integrated power supply.

Hope this helps. I would go for the mk2 if you could. If you can get a good deal on the mk1 it would be nice also.
