Ich persönlich warte in diesem Bereich seeeehr auf das OS V2.0 für den Roland Vsynth (das auch im XT ,der Rackversion stecken wird)

neue Features sind :
-der lustige Multi Sequencer -LFO aus der neueren Fantom Serie (!!!)
- lustigerweise Hypersaw (für Dancehammer-Liebhaber) und Crossmod. sowie poly Feedback OSC.. das wird ein Fest!!!
- einige Neuerungen in der Synthese , kleine und Grosse..
- neue Card für den VSynth neben der D50 emu: Voice Modeling.. nicht uninteressant..


Elastic Audio für die Massen?

achja: für alle die mit dem wechsel auf den XT spielen:
ohaaa. da braucht ihr MASSENHAFT controller..
lasst es, kein hubschrauberlandeplatz (der immerhin durch XY screenberührung etwas abgefangen wird), keine d-beams (die sind klasse für time und pitch!)
keine knopfsets für alle sektionen.. sondern nur ein kleines set an gerouteten reglern, deren funktion HOFFENTLICH letzlich per menüumschaltung jeweils die menüparameter übernehmen , so wie der vsynth kb es auch tut mit der hüllkurve..

mit diesem Gerät kann man man nicht nur die spitzen-mässige Multi-Oscillator :shock: technology zum vorschein bringen sondern auch die Klassische Wave form. :schwachz:
Mit USB für importe,mit einer V-card Erweiterung kann man sogar den lengendären D-50 wieder zum leben erwecken,etc.etc.etc.
(Auch wenn dieser nie gestorben ist... :opa: )

der Sequencer ist 4fach und kann einiges,

und.. hey.. sogar die presets werden vermutlich mehr leuten zusagen..
passen gut auf aktuelle stile.. natürlich kann er mehr, aber es ist ja nur für den laden zum reinhören.. ;-)

wer keinen http://www.sequencer.de/syns/roland Roland vsynth hat, kann ihn bei EA im shop kaufen ;-) harhar..
 
achja: der seq ist faktisch das,was im ms2000 auch vorhanden

also ich w

also ich würde ,wenn es kein problem des Platzes gibt die KB Version nehmen, weil:

- d beams
- hubschrauberlandeplatz aka pad
- arper on off und tempo switch
- massig regler..

ich habe mal investigiert und festgestellt: man müsste ein ziemlich teures remote-teil kaufen ,wenn man das alles ersetzen will.. jaja, man kann ein kaoss pad nutzen , eine reglerschlachtbank und die d beams gehen flöten..
aber das ist nicht wirklich dasselbe.. auch ich schlepp nicht gern.. ;-)
aber ich hab mich pro schlepping(tm) entscheiden,weil es einfach die sache wert ist..

achja beim XT gibts auch pluspunkte: ganz wichtig ist das farbdisplay und eben die GRÖSSE .. dann sind die beiden cards schon eingebaut und man hat so den d50 und voice mod immer dabei..
hat also auch vorteile..
die regler sind kastriert und afaik so zugeordnet,das man immer auf der entsprechenden seite die regler nehmen kann.. damit kann man leben .. aber es ist natürlich nicht so nett wie im KB..

OSC page aktiv und man hat die OSC parameter auch im griff.. man kann also schon damit arbeiten.. nicht,das da ein komischer eindruck entsteht..

aber beide kann man sich halt nicht leisten..

This document could clearify things. Yes I think Watermelon is right. By holding down the palette 1 button you access the "core" of the synth where the OS is.

V-Synth Version 1.51 Updating Procedures (Works for 2.0 on the mac)


*Note:Updating the operating system will cause the internal sounds to revert back
to original factory settings. Before performing the system update, please backup
the Internal Memory of the V-Synth to a PC card or to a computer via USB.

How to backup data

(A) Backup to the computer's hard disk.

1. By following the instructions in the Owner's Manual of the V-Synth (p90
"Connecting to Your Computer via USB"), connect the V-Synth and the
computer with a USB cable.

2. Select "Internal" in the "USB Storage" screen.
The Internal Memory of the V-Synth will appear on the computer's screen as
a drive.

3. By operating the computer, copy all files and folders in the V-Synth
drive to the computer's drive (such as the hard disk).

4. After finishing the copying process, eject the V-Synth drive by operating
the computer.

5. Disconnect the USB cable from the V-Synth.

(B) Backup to a PC card
In order to save to a PC card, follow the instructions on
p85 of the Owner's Manual ("Saving Project on Disk").

*Note that due to revisions of the Owner's Manual, the actual
page numbers may be different.


*System Requirements

Windows : Microsoft Windows 98 or later.(For Windows 98SE/98, USB Storage Driver
must be pre-installed.)
Macintosh: Mac OS 9.04 or later.


*Contents of the files.
1. Documents
a. Readme.txt - This document.
b. Notes.txt - Important Notices regarding V-Synth Version 1.51.
c. List_e3.pdf - Patch and Wave List.
d. AddedFeature_e.pdf - Manual to use the added features.
2. Program (data that will be installed in the V-Synth)
a. V-Synth.rom - V-Synth Version 1.51 update program data.
b. V-SynthDiskImage.bin - Sound data for V-Synth Version 1.51.


Updating Procedures

(1) While holding down the "PATCH PALLETE [1]" button, turn on the power of the
V-Synth.

(2) "*** Program Updater ***" will appear on the screen.

(3) Press "PATCH PALLETE [2]" button to select "[2] Update by USB Mass Storage".

(4) Connect the V-Synth to PC or Macintosh with USB cable.

(5) Mount the V-Synth to the computer as removable disk.

For Windows
- Compatible OS: Windows 98 or later
*For Windows 98SE/98, the USB Storage Driver must be pre-installed.
- When USB connection is ready, the driver installation will begin. You will find
"Found New Hardware" message near the Windows's Task Tray.
*The driver installation will be proceeded automatically. Please wait a few
moment until the installation is completed.
- After the installation is completed, a new icon
for the drive will appear when you open "My Computer".
*For Windows XP, "V-Synth" will appear as a drive icon. For Windows 2000/
Me/98SE/98, "Removable Disk" will appear as a drive icon.

For Macintosh
- Compatible OS: Mac OS 9.0.4 or later
- "V-Synth" drive icon image will appear on the desktop when USB connection is ready.

(6) Copy data to the V-Synth drive.

For Windows
*When you find "Accessing..." message on the V-Synth LCD screen , DO NOT execute
the following;
a. Disconnect the USB cable.
b. Suspend (Stand By), Hybernation, Restart, Shut Down of the computer.
c. Turn off the power of the V-Synth.

- Copy "V-Synth.rom" and "V-SynthDiskImage.bin" into the V-Synth drive icon
(or into the "Removable Disk") by drag and drop.
* Wait until the "Accessing..." message disappears.
- Disconnect the V-Synth by right clicking the V-Synth drive icon
(or the Removable Disk) and selecting "Eject".


For Macintosh
*When you find "Accessing..." message on the V-Synth LCD screen, DO NOT execute
the following;
a. Disconnect the USB cable.
b. Suspend (Stand By), Hybernation, Restart, Shut Down of the computer.
c. Turn off the power of the V-Synth.

- Copy "V-Synth.rom" and "V-SynthDiskImage.bin" into the
V-Synth drive by drag and drop.
* Wait until the "Accessing..." message disappears.
- Disconnect the V-Synth by clicking the V-Synth drive icon and selecting "Eject" from
the "Special" menu, or dragging and dropping the V-Synth drive icon into "Trash".
For Mac OS X, select "Eject" from the "File" menu, or drag and drop the V-Synth drive
icon into "Trash".

(7) Disconnect the USB cable.

(8) Press "PATCH PALETTE [8]" to execute the update.

(9) The update will be completed when "Complete! Please Power Off." message appears
on the screen with beep sounds.

(10) Check the Version Number of the V-Synth.
- In the Patch Mode screen, touch the bottom arrow which is located on the top
right of the screen.
- Touch "Info" in the Pull-down menu, and Version Number of the V-Synth can
be identified on the top left of the screen (Ver. *.** will appear).

(11) Finally, if you have saved V-Synth's Project data (Internal.prj), load the
data into the V-Synth.

If you have saved the Project data on to a computer's hard disk in USB Storage
Mode, make the same connection as you have when saving the Project data, and
copy the data into the V-Synth drive or into the "Removable Disk" from the
hard disk.

If you have saved the Project data on to a PC card, after loading the Project
data from the PC card (Owner's Manual p84), save the Project to Internal (Int)
(Owner's Manual p85).

*Note that due to revisions of the Owner's Manual, the actual page numbers may be

Zumidnest das geht über das Display (Touch Dingsbums),

Das is aber scheiße. Hab auf der Messe beide V-Synth Versionen ausprobiert und würde auch klar zur KB-Version raten.

Klaro, abends noch mit nem Freund aus Uni-Zeiten einen heben ;-) und heute mittag dann ab in den Zug. 6 Stunden war ich unterwegs, naja. Aber hat sich gelohnt. Nächstes Jahr werde ich mehr Zeit mitbringen.

Ach ja, und die Affinität zu Keyboards, das stimmt, aber in dem Fall hat das den Grund, dass das Pad da besser zu bearbeiten ist als der Screen vom Rack. Für jemanden, der das Teil wirklich "spielen" will, empfiehlt sich jedenfalls das Keyboard.

oops, das seh ich erst jetzt.. sorry, messe lenkt ab..

einfach das ROM files in den Vsynth per usb überspielen dann neu starten mit patch taste 1 oder 2 gehalten und dann ist er fertig.. dann neu starten (er sagt dir das dann auch) und es ist für immer drin..

touchpad: ja, es gibt eine art touchpad mode, in dem das display / touchscreen als touchpad dient.. das ist klar.. und die bedienung ist für ein rack schon sehr gut..
und bunt ;-)
warum die arper regler und d-beams fehlen weissich aber nicht so recht, da es als desktop teil geplant ist.. die rackplaung ist jedoch SEHR GUT gelöst.. man kann ihn als desktop oder rack nutzen und beliebig abwinkeln.. das sollen andere mal nachmachen..

pics hab ich jetzt nochmal up.. nach einem netten http://www.sequencer.de/syns/roland Roland abend ist nun auch ne menge an interessanten ideen geflossen..

der vc2 ist SEHR interessant für alle vocoder freaks und weit drüber hinaus..

es ist aber nicht schwer zu raten: auch ich hätte gern eine kleinere aber KB version mit 3oktaven .. das wäre eh perfekt für jeden hersteller ..
mehr keybocht(tm) braucht kein mensch.

nunja, jetzt schlepp ich halt den v mit mir rum.. das hamse jetzt davon.. ;-)
malsehn, um ein vc2 als erstmalnix kommt man auch schwer rum..

Hab heute beim Händler meines Vertrauens 1km Kabel gekauft ;-) und mich nebenbei mit dem Vsynth gespielt. Nette Maschine, wird mich sicher bald Geld kosten. Nur eine Kleinigkeit hat mich etwas gestört. Ist der Landeplatz eigentlich auch pressure-sensitiv oder nur position-sensitive? Bei der angetesteten Maschine musste ich für meinen Geschmack etwas zuviel Druck ausüben damit das Pad gut funktioniert....

...und dieser pitch joystick, der taugt mir auch nicht wirklich...

Ja sowas hab ich auch überlegt. Schliesslich ist die Maschine noch in Produktion (zur Abwechslung mal) und daher evtl. HW Updates auch möglich.

aber das mit dem pad: ich finde der druck ist angemessen, zumindest bei meiner maschine.. drucksensitiv sind sie nicht.. es sind aber genug controller dran..

architektur: nun, es nunmal nicht viele elastic audio alternativen?.. ich kenn in hardware da leider keine andere..

kannst du beim vsynth eigentlich eine catch funktion für die pots aktivieren? hab ich nicht gefunden.

bei dem von mir getesteten vsynth war das pad viel zu unsensibel, so vom gefühl her der 5fache druck im vergleich zum ribbon controller des andros (der braucht ja fast gar keinen).

Grammatikalisch wäre es falsch:
Synthesizer: Nomen, maskulin
Virus: Nomen, neutrum, maskulin

Aber, nenn mich jetzt einen seltsamen Freak, find ich sie doch eher weiblich.

Sie kostet mich Zeit, ich kann an ihr rumspielen, und von Zeit zu Zeit zickt sie auch rum. Und meine Frau ist Eifersüchtig wenn ich mich zu lang mit ihr beschäftige. De Facto muss sie ja weiblich sein.
