Filter Technology by Emu, it's no more than having multiple (up to 14) Pole Filters that can not only be controlled by Cutoff and Resonance but also influence other parameters within the complex Filtering Circuitry.

In Fact any Filter is a "Z-Plane" filter but what most synths still not offer is another parameter morphing between the filter types or between complete filter-clusters named "tranform" in the Emu Synths Morpheus, Ultra Proteus and some later ROM Modules with 12 Pole Filters and some Samplers with less filter types but taken from the z-plane concept.
