the TI series integrates the virus into the computer (edits and can be used as audio interface via usb), got hypersaw/square with sync plus Wavetables, more FX and Voices. another Virus version.. there were 3 versions: Indigo (3oct), desktop, Keyboard (5oct), do I have to say something here? after making the access programmers for Microwave and Matrix 1000 Mr. Kemper and Mr. Kirsch did this groundbreaking sounding Synth for a digital Synth. The second after the Nord Lead "virtual analogue" synth. Whats cool about the Wavetables: you can select one on each OSC (unlike the PPG/Waldorf stuff), so it's really access to 2 completely indepentent Wavetables.
Erster Virus mit integration in den Rechner (TI=total integration) , Virus kann als Audiointerface genutzt werden, ist am Rechner editierbar und bekommt erstmal Wavetables und Hypersaw / Hypersquare mit Sync. Weitere Version des Virus. Es gab 3 Versionen: Indigo, Keyboard und Desktop. Der Virus setzte neue Maßstäbe bei Klang eines digitalen Synthesizers, auch hatte er 6 Einzelausgänge und einen Envelope Follower für Audio-Signale. Die Wavetables sind wirklich 2 unterschiedliche TABLES, nicht wie bei Waldorf/PPG mit zwei OSCs, wo stets EIN Wavetable zur Verfügung steht, durch den beide OSCs unabhängig fahren könenn. Daher im Virus ein neues Kapitel der Wavetables..

2 independent multimode filters: lowpass, hipass, bandpass, band reject, parallel, split & 2 serial modes with up to 36dB/oct. (6 poles), the virus had 64 digital waves for OSCs and LFO (!!), so very complex modulations possible, LFOs rang into audio but big ranges cause some "inharmonic" mod depth., filter with misc saturation modes, modmatrix contains all parameters exept OSCs (as source). Effect for all multis. new Hypersaw is the same as Rolands supersaw but can be crossfaded into supersqaure (hyper..) looses the subosc then. Wavetables are new (not from PPG / Waldorf) and there are 127 Waves in one Table, 64, but atm fixed / not editable. 2x16 FX at the same time, really a lot .. real FX per multi! 80 voices!

der erste Virus hatte bereits 64 digitale Wellenformen für Oszillatoren und LFOs (!), das macht komplexe Modulationen interessant. Die beiden filter können unterschiedlich verschaltet werden und haben div. Sättigungsmodi, Die ModMatrix enthält alle Parameter ausser OSCs natürlich. Effekte für alle Multisounds. Die Hypersaw ist wie Rolands supersaw, überblendbar als Supersquare (dann aber kein subosc möglich), dazu Wavetables, die nicht vom PPG oder Waldorf, sie bestehen beim Virus aus 127 Waves (64 Stk), sind bisher nicht editierbar. es gibt nun wirklich viele Effekte, damit gibt es keine Sorge und man kann alle Sounds auch mit FX im multi nutzen (!!)

HERE IS A NICE TRICK TO MAKE THE LFOs VERY VERY FAST (like the jupiter 4's LFOs)! (audio speed) with NO MODIFICATION AT ALL:
or: a third LFO on the SH5 with variable waveform shaper!:
1) set the ADSR to s/h trigger
2) turn filter to ADSR and the amount knob (sens.) up!
3) turn the s/h speed to maximum
4)set A,D and R tu a very small amount and experiment: this is your LFO shape!!
now you got a very fast filter FM like on the jupiter 4! without any chance, the secret is the faster s/h speed that the sample and hold clock needs to produce to "sample" the LFO1s waveposition. (of course the lag does not mean something in this case: I just use the clock to trigger the ENVs!: works with AR,too..
THIS SHOULD WORK on other Synths, especially the SYSTEM 100 too.. if not: it's not too difficult to use s/h clock as trigger for envelopes.. maybe useing OSCs for triggering is possible,too? (I doubt the speed will not be enough on the ADSR.. but it may work.. or is an interesting basis for mods? anyone? please email, if you did something with this..)

Christof Kemper and Guido Kirsch started with 2 SysEx controllers for the Matrix and Microwave 1 synthesizers but soon made the second virtual synthesizer virus, which became a long line of successors and improved more and more. as access they never had others products, in fact they did some under other brands

Der erste Virus, muss ich da noch viel sagen? Guido Kirsch und Christoph Kemper hatten zuvor die Access Programmer für Matrix 1000 und Microwave gebaut. Der Virus setzte neue Maßstäbe bei Klang eines digitalen Synthesizers, auch hatte er 6 Einzelausgänge und einen Envelope Follower für Audio-Signale. Bis heute gibt es eine lange Produktlinie des sehr gut gepflegten Virus. Weitermachen!
