ABOUT the synthex had midi and was a bit late, so it had to compete with the DX7 and "lost", it is the one behind Jarres well known sync sounds (laser harp) which is in fact a preset. Elka was known for organs so the people did not trust them? only some EK models were made after the synthex. very nice BPF sound.
ABOUT Der Synthex ist heute ein Kultsynth mit einem sehr schönen Klang, er war aber seinerzeit nicht so erfolgreich, denn er kam erst 1984 raus und musste gegen den DX7 "anstinken", dabei ist der Sync-Sound von Jarres "Laserharfe" (ein Preset!) sicher sehr bekannt und hochwertig. Schöner BPF. Ok, Elka war eine Orgelfirma und hat neben den EK Modellen sonst keine Synthesizer angeboten.
