ABOUT VP1, which simulates Strings (any Kind) from morphing a guitar into a chinese Erthu and things like that with only a few parameters.. it's price should not be below 25000 euro, still since there are only 3 "sold" (I assume Peter Gabriel has one?) it's basic functionality is like the VL1 but it is rarely seen and I only know it from the fine Demo on the german keys mag-CD 94/12 (by Reinhold Heil)...

ABOUT VP1: Ein sehr seltener Synthesizer im gleichen Design, simuliert Saiteninstrumente und ist ein sehr aufwendiges und sehr teures System gewesen (25000 Euro als Richtpreis), davon gibt es heute wohl nicht mehr als 3, zu hören gibt es ihn auf der Keys CD 94/12 von Reinhold Heil vorgeführt. Er hatte nur wenige Parameter, die teilweise Morphing-artige Ergebnise und verwandlungen von Mandolinen in chinesische Geigen zu eine Gitarre möglich machen. Sein sonstiges Funktionsprinzip is ähnlich dem des VL1 , nur WESENTLICH teurer..
Es gibt 4 Layers (Elements) mit jeweils einer Hüllkurve und einem LFO. Alles andere ist nicht direkt zugreifbar. Deshalb Daten so, wie man dran kommt, auch wenn unter der Haube weit mehr vorhanden ist.

DETAILS there's 2 basic models which are NOT the same as in the VL series, it's self oscillating and free running models for simulation of guitar kind of picking and bowing like on a violin.
There's 3 Scenes to morph between like on the Clavia Synths, but it's only a quite small set of parameters accessible, in this case all controllers. Most Parameters (hundreds)are not accessible on the box, so since it did not sell much because auf that price (surprise) due to the DSP/computing power you need exta help via Yamaha - well but there is no editor so far so you have to live with the presets and that minimal set of parameters incl LFO, ENV and some more.

DETAILS Es gibt 2 Typen: Freilaufendes und Selbstoszillierendes MOdell jeweils pro Element (4 gibts). Sie haben nichts mit den VL Synthesizern zu tun und haben 3 Scene Speicher zwischen denen gemorpht werden können. Allerdings nur die Controller, nicht ALLES. Die beiden Modelle sind jeweils für gezupfte und ander angestoßene Saiten wie Gitarren - die andere Modellart ist für alles, was gestrichen und "dauerhafter" klingt.
