yes indeed,the 2040 have less problem with that,but in the tiptop module they have added an gain compensation(u can read it oon the site),so i guess this will include also maybe some 'bassboost' aswell,like they did implement in the MOTM440
Only a real ssm2040 IC will give the sound of an ssm2040.
u can come very close (like the MOTM 440) but it never will sound like an 2040 ic
On top the stupid thing is there is plenty of ssm ic's into an MOTM440 (except a 2040 ofcource) i guess this one will be based around the same ota's
i don't think (am sure) cloning an aks 1/1 using the same shematics same look knobs and would be no problem at all ,but i do think if u try to use the same name and brand u will have for sure problems.
