Korg EMX - ESX Jitter knob problem Solution

Endlich ist eine solution fur das knob jitter problem on the Korg Elect. EMX - ESX. Ein Beispiel fur der problem ist hier . Der problem ist das die upper circuit Board is mountet very close to the lower one, so when you put force on it ,the Boards touch and creates a short-circuit .Hir ist die artikle mit fotos und cee.

So, long Story short:

The Problem is, that the upper circuit Board is mountet very close to the lower one, so when you put force on it, they touch, create a chort-circuit and make the controller go crazy.

To Fix this, you first need to take of the blue or red frontplate by pulling of the plastic knobs and loosening the hexagonal bolts.
Secound, unscrew the 4 grey screws on the plate below (see Image).
You don't need to unscrew the black screws.

You now can take of the top part of the unit.

My solution to fixing the problem, was to put something in between the circuit boards, to prevent them from touching.
Considering that the EMX uses tubes, and tubes tend to get hot, i wouldn't use any flammable material like normal paper. I used baking paper, but a better solution would be thin plastic foil or something similar.
So i just had to cut out a piece in the size of the circuit board, tape it onto it. And i was done!

I tested it the whole day, i didn't experience a single knob jitter!

me too, I am using 3 tribes atm and play them a lot,..

I'd like some good solution for hiend pots replacement or something that makes them rock solid for live performance.
same with microkorg, it's soooo fragile. those pots are so ...

Danke, fur die hilfe und das hinweis Moogulator.Nechste mall one dopelt post .Ich habe diese problem seit 2 jahre mit meine ESX aber kenne leute mit der selbe problem mit den EMX .Der Korg Support ignorirt diese problem seit jahre, und alle contact spray und cleaner helfen nicht. Diese losung ist wirklich eine freude fur mich.

Kontaktspray tötet JEDES Instrument, unbedingt und immer vermeiden, frisst Platinen und noch mehr!

Ja es ist wahr das alle contact spray die ich probirt hab sind nicht gut ,danach bleibt immer diese Oil-Fett.Seit 5 monate hab ich diese Italien gesellschaft gefunden Due Ci Electronic die fur Spray specialisirt sind http://www.duecielectronic.it/index.php ... 1=prodotti .Es gibt eine neue pruduct G24 SPECIAL DRY CLEANER mit sehr schnele avapoirung und nach 3-4 sec. bleibt keine oil oder fett und ist geeignet fur delicate equipments.Wie es Moogulator gesagt hat es ist immer beser zu vermeiden aber wenn ich keine andere möglichkeit habe dan benutze ich die G24 SPECIAL DRY CLEANER http://www.duecielectronic.it/index.php ... +G-24&k=19. Ich hab es in Conrad gekauft.

Hallo und Danke für eine Lösung des Problems, auf die ich durch eine Recherche in diesem Forum gestoßen bin!

Bei meiner gebraucht erworbenen EMX trat der jitterbug nur beim Resonance Pot auf. Aufgeschraubt, gereinigt hatte ich sie schonmal. Nur ist der bug zu der Zeit noch nicht aufgetreten...
Nun dachte ich also and die Backpapier-Therapie!

Davor habe ich erstmal die Schrauben in der Umgebung des betroffenden Potis ein wenig gelockert und dessen Kappe minimal "angezogen", so dass sie nicht mehr so nah an der Frontplatte sitzt. Und, siehe da, bei mir funktioniert auch das schon allein! Ich werde es die nächsten Stunden, Tage, Wochen beobachten und dann noch mal ein Statement dazu abgeben.
