Darwin als Basis für MacOS X war schon immer Opensource, von daher also nix Neues. Dir ist aber klar, dass das der reine Unterbau ohne GUI, also ohne grafische Benutzeroberfläche ist? Dürfte für Musiksachen also ziemlich uninteressant sein.

Ich kenne mich bei MacOS X nicht aus und wusste das nicht bzg. Darwin/Opensource, auch nicht das PureDarwin ohne GUI ist noch das Apple Teile Opensource sind (opensource.apple). War simples c/p von einem anderen Forum.

Naja, es ist halt anscheinend ein Open Source Unix. Nur dass es nicht so viel Software dafür gibt, wie für andere Open Source Unixe.

Keine Ahnung was der werden soll. Ohne die ganzen Apple Frameworks hat man halt irgendein *nix.

Im Vergleich zu Wine aber noch in den Kinderschuhen. Gibt bei MacOS -> Linux auch nicht so viele kommerzielle Interessen dahinter wie Windows -> Linux/MacOS.
