“The Pre-Working Demos” is a collection of home recordings made in the early 1980s, capturing some of the very first songs composed by Holger Wobker and Peter Sawatzki. Recorded on cassette tapes, these demos feature tracks sung in both German and English. Among them is the earliest version of “You,” originally titled “Youmavision.”
These demos, which Holger often played at the record store where he worked, helped attract attention to the band and eventually led to a recording contract for their first and best-selling single, “You”, and their debut album, “The Working Model” (1983).
