Bekannt sind NO MORE durch den genresprengenden Indie-Klassiker "Suicide Commando" der ein unverzichtbarer Teil vieler DJ-Sets von Electronica bis Indierock, von Post Punk und New Wave bis Electroclash ist und durch Remixe und Coverversionen von DJ Hell, Echopark und DJ Vitalic immer wieder ins Rampenlicht gestellt wurde.
NO MORE, die seit Ende 2008 wieder in ganz Europa spielen, kombinieren ungewöhnliche elektronische Instrumenten wie Theremin und "den grünen Kreis" mit analogen Klängen und bieten - musikalisch und visuell - eine beeindruckende Performance ihrer Indie-Post-Punk-Kraut-Electronica-Kombination.

Influences of dark TripHop can be found here, as well as pieces of PostPunk, machine sounds, intimate moments and - surprise! - lonesome Theremin-flavored Country as provided in "The Grey". These seem to be a whole lot of styles indeed to be squeezed on one album within 13 tracks but NO MORE happen to succeed where other less experienced bands might have failed.

The Post-Punk frenzy of "The Beautiful Life of the Wasted Youth" and the Kraftwerk-like "This Was die modernistische Welt" are a dualistic retro-futuristic portrait, shifting between analogue synthesizer, theremin and sharp and dry drum machine, creating an abstract atmosphere that is neither static nor sterile but punctuated by a rythmic slow anamorphosy. The title track as well as "Gritty Existence" follow a harmonic linear form reminiscent of Bowie and Brian Eno in Berlin ("Low" and, especially, "Heroes").

The duo's closing the album with a track that I've just heard in a lush, orchestral version from Peter Gabriel: 'Heroes'! The spirit of the original is there in every note with a gritty undertone added amidst the fluffy melodies and oscillations. A slightly rocking attitude joins in later on, Unique in its own way, just as the album is.
