stromspiesser XVIII - Bochum Edition - 12.10. 16:00 - Oval Office Bar
Nach einem erfolgreichem Jubiläumswochenende im Mai diesen Jahres kehrt mit dem nächsten Konzert eine vermeintliche Normalität in das stromspiesser Universum zurück. Doch die Acts der achtzehnten stromspiesser Edition sind alles andere als normal und wir freuen uns darauf! Die MADRE DEL RUIDO (zu deutsch "Mutter des Noises) Bella Comsom erforscht Klang, Licht und elektromagnetische Wellen – als Praxis des Erinnerns, Heilens und zur Auflösung kolonialer Grenzen zwischen Mensch und Natur. Die Wahldüsseldorferin Natalia Molina Bohórquez verwandelt die Flöte in einen Resonanzkörper, der Stimme, Feedback und Elektronik verschränkt. Weston Olencki präsentiert their augmentiertes Banjo zwischen Tradition und Experiment. Und all das in der wundervollen Oval Office Bar bei freiem Eintritt! Was noch kann man von einem Sonntag im Pott abverlangen? (Vielleicht nur eine gute Bahnverbindung*)

After a successful anniversary weekend in May of this year, the next concert marks a return to supposed normality in the stromspiesser universe. But the acts of the eighteenth stromspiesser edition are anything but normal, and we're excited about it! The MADRE DEL RUIDO (Spanish for "Mother of Noise") Bella Comsom explores sound, light, and electromagnetic waves – as a practice of remembering, healing, and dissolving colonial boundaries between humans and nature. Düsseldorf-based Natalia Molina Bohórquez transforms the flute into a resonating body that intertwines voice, feedback, and electronics. Weston Olencki presents their augmented banjo between tradition and experiment. And all of this at the wonderful Oval Office Bar with free admission! What more could you ask for from a Sunday in the Ruhr area? (Perhaps only a good train connection*)
*Bochum Central Station will not be served by the regular regional express trains until October 31st due to extensive construction work. Please note the rail replacement service in the form of buses!
