…vor einer ganzen Weile habe ich die Hardware Jams Facebook-Gruppe entdeckt, und dann auch deren Youtube-Präsenz: die Gruppe gibt es seit ein paar Jahren, sie hat mehrere tausend Mitglieder, davon ca. 5-600 aktive und ca. 60-80 sehr-sehr aktive Mitglieder…

…ein regelmäßiges - praktischs wöchentliches - Event ist die ‚weekend challenge‘: am Freitag wird eine Aufgabe gestellt und am Montag Abend 21 Uhr (deutscher Zeit) gibt es dann einen gemeinsamen ‚Streamthrough‘ - also ein gemeinsames, moderiertes Ansehen der Beiträge mit dem für die Gemeinschaft extrem wichtigen Youtube-Text-Chat daneben…

…pro weekend challenge gibt es jedes Mal zwischen 40 und 60 Beiträgen von jeweils maximal 5 Minuten - so ein Montagabend-Streamthrough kann also locker mal bis 1-2 Uhr nachts gehen…

…nach dem Streamthrough gibt es dann ein ‚voting‘ bis zum Donnerstag Abend, und eine Gewinnerin oder einen Gewinner, die dann beim nächsten Streamthrough vor den Beiträgen der neuen weekend challenge gespielt werden…

This weekend we challenge you to make a hypnotic jam… use your hardware in any way you like to mesmerise the jamfam - Just for example it could be repetitive sounds or beats. It could be ASMR-ish whispers. It could be sweeps and swoops and binaural tones. It could be drones. Use your imagination and do your best to lull the rest of us into compliance hehehe… Bonus silliness points for subconscious suggestions!Please make your jams this weekend; keep them to around 5 mins duration. Avoid using copyright audio or video. When you have uploaded your jam, paste the link in the comments below and fill in the Google Form that is linked in this post. The deadline for submissions is the start of the stream through on Monday, usually 8pm UK time although subject to change.Have fun!

The Names Jams. Hardware Jams.This week, the shades are on, the gadgets are primed and the cheesy dry humour is upon us as we embark on the I, Spy Challenge. We would like you to make a jam based around the secret art of Espionage. It could be a theme tune to a spy series, it could be the underscore to an important document heist, get them overcoats, chamber your Walther PPKs and get Jamming. Usual rules apply. Please keep jams under 5 minutes, the jams should be made over this weekend and jams in before Streamthrough start!

'Hey JamFam!

Very pleased and excited to announce our 7th Hardware Jams Festival, renamed and dedicated to our much loved and missed Lisa Beynon.

This is the first Inkyfest.

For any new members, once a year we ask you to put together a set to play at our festival, which is held over a weekend of livestreaming. Unlike weekend challenges there is no theme, sets are longer (10mins) and you have a little longer to put your submission together.

Inkyfest '25 will be held on the weekend of 19th-21st September, 3 days of music running from Friday night to early Monday morning GMT.

We ask that you please submit your sets no later than Friday 12th September. Unlike previous years we just do not have the capacity to chase for sets or make allowances for individuals, if you miss the deadline then unfortunately you will lose your place on the festival.

*IMPORTANT* Sets should be set as unlisted on YouTube and should not be released before the festival, once the festival is over please feel free to release your sets and make public.
