With his distinctive groove and signature touch on the keys, Matt Johnson has been an integral part of UK funk phenomenon Jamiroquai, co-writing most of the band’s music over his 22-year tenure.
Beyond Jamiroquai, Matt has collaborated with artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Lizzo, Purple Disco Machine, Ashanti, SG Lewis, Will Young, Newton Faulkner, Jay Jones, and many more.
Now, he’s bringing his own vision to the stage with his solo project, "With the Music" —a high-energy, feel-good blend of funk, jazz, and rare groove that carries the spirit of Jamiroquai while adding his unique personal touch.
Captured live in Berlin, this exclusive Yamaha Global Stage performance features Matt alongside Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) on drums, Ernest McKone on bass, and Andrew Smith on guitar, delivering an electrifying set of music.
As a highlight, rising jazz star Simon Oslender joins Matt for a special duo-keys performance of "Life on Mars", bringing his soulful melodies and masterful sense of groove into the mix.
Matt uses Yamaha Montage M8x and Montage M6 in this performance.
