Monumatic is a fully polyphonic 8-voice synthesizer and a monophonic synthesizer packed into a compact 12HP Eurorack module.
It features16 selectable oscillator modes to provide a diverse range of both classic and futuristic tone generation using exclusively virtual analog algorithms.
These include;

• Roland super-saw
• Polymoog vox humana
• Casio phase distortion
• Solina string synth
• Percussive drawbar organs
• “noisy cassette” strings
• pulse width modulation
• asymmetric sync saw
• sync square

All modelled oscillators are analog modeled without samples and each one of these is adjustable in timbre using the Detune control. Each oscillator mode providing the foundation for further signal processing though the filter and effects sections.
6 powerful filter types are provided:

• Vowel filter for vocal effects
• Low Pass Butterworth 24db/oct
• Low Pass SVF 12db/oct
• Dual peak notch filter
• Phase shifter
• High pass and SVF

Each filter can be overdriven by the drive setting.
Like its sibling module Poly Cinematic, Monumatic is designed to be simple to use yet versatile, offering minimal controls to access a wealth of sounds, avoiding the need to scroll through 1000s of complex presets.
Monumatic supports full analog control of every parameter, using two instantly assignable CV inputs as well as additional CV inputs for Gate, V/Oct and Filter cutoff, with additional digital control using comprehensive Midi CC and MPE implementation.

…ja, das ist natürlich einerseits toll - andererseits weiß ich nicht ob ich gerade in einem modularen Synthesizer ein einzelenes Modul brauche welches acht Synthesizer ist…

…oder anders: so toll dieses Modul auch ist denke ich, dass halt das Eurorack hier als Verpackung dient und nicht tatsächlich dem Gedanken eines modularen Synthesizers gerecht wird…

Finde den super und werde ihn mir bestimmt in absehbarer Zeit mal zulegen. Im Moment habe ich einen Oxi Coral im Rack, der ist zu Teilen vergleichbar (weil beide als polyphone Module via Midi benutzbar sind). Mag den Oxi Coral sehr gerne. Der Monumatic hat aber darüber hinaus ein paar sehr gut klingende Synstesizer Modelle zur Auswahl. Finde auch die verschiedenen Filtertypen super und mit dem Detune Regler ist er auch noch recht gut spielbar. Er hat zwar etwas wenige Modulationseingänge, mich würde das für meinen Anwendungsbereich aber nicht weiter stören. Sehr schönes Ding!

Ich verstehe um ehrlich zu sein diese "alter Mann rants" in Richtung "das hat doch nichts mehr mit Modular zu tun

" auch nicht so recht ... wenn man polyphone Sounds im Rack haben will und einen Midi fähigen Sequencer hat gibt es m.E. keine bessere Lösung.

…naja, die Idee eines Modular-Synthesizers ist halt die einzelnen Elemente, die einen solchen Synthesizer einzeln verfügbar zu haben…

…das Konzept einen solchen kompletten Synthesizer in einem Modul zusammenzufassen ist halt eher nicht modular…

…gleichzeitg sehe ich auch Vorteile darin komplette Synthesizermodule zu haben und nutze das auch selbst - in dem Bewußtsein, dass es halt nicht Modular ist ist sondern ein Synthesizermodul…

Eben, es ist ein modulares Synthesizermodul, das darüber hinaus auch noch modulierbar ist. Ich finde das 'einzelne Elemente Argument' einfach nicht besonders überzeugend. Wenn ich hier jetzt ein Filtermodul mit eingebautem VCA diskutiere kommt ja auch niemand und sagt "nee das ist nicht wirklich modular, weil die einzelnen Elemente nicht separat verfügbar sind"...

Für mich kommt es bei der Modulwahl darauf an, dass ich damit das machen kann, was ich damit machen möchte. Für manche Leute bedeutet das, für jede Funktion ein einzelnes Modul zu nutzen. Für manche Leute bedeutet es, sich ein 4ms Meta Modul ins Rack zu schrauben und alles am Rechner vorzubereiten. Und irgendwie ist beides auch legitim und okay.
