Only a real ssm2040 IC will give the sound of an ssm2040.

u can come very close (like the MOTM 440) but it never will sound like an 2040 ic

On top the stupid thing is there is plenty of ssm ic's into an MOTM440 (except a 2040 ofcource) i guess this one will be based around the same ota's

tja, das ist ja immer ein bisschen das problem von synths, die sich auf ein klassisches vorbild berufen, dass sie sich dann immer am "original" messen lassen muessen.

ich bin aber mal sehr gespannt, wie das ding fuer sich klingt, ohne originalvergleich.

und die vc-eingaenge fuer gain und fm sind natuerlich nett - spart zusaetzliche vca-module...

erst war ich genervt das schon wieder ein neuer Filter auf den Markt kommt, aber die features lesen sich äußerst vielversprechend

könnte mein Doepfer SSM ersetzen! Mit dem werde ich nicht so richtig warm, da es bei einsetzender Resonanz sofort massiv den Bass killt! Ich hoffe das ist hier besser gelöst.

yes indeed,the 2040 have less problem with that,but in the tiptop module they have added an gain compensation(u can read it oon the site),so i guess this will include also maybe some 'bassboost' aswell,like they did implement in the MOTM440
