Ableton kauft / aquires Cycling ’74 – so Max/MSP will sooner or later become one with Live. How about the standalone Max? we don’t know. Was wird wohl mit Max/MSP passieren? Noch wissen wir es nicht.

• Wavelab 9 – ist neu und hat ein neues Oberflächen-Konzept mitgebracht. Inzwischen ist man auch hier bei dem „One Window“-Schema und die Optik erinnert sehr stark an die Ribbons in Microsoft Office, demzufolge auch mehr an eine Windows-Software. Man geht dies’mal ungewöhnliche Wege mit Mitte-Seite-Mischungen für Microfone und es gibt auch einen Austausch mit Cubase/Nuendo, welcher aber doch eher „grundsätzlich“ vorhanden ist. unbelievable what ppl do with Max these days ;) this time – a work in progress ARP 2500 modular,analog synth – and looks like it may get ready soon / so you can not actually download or buy it but.. I assume / hear that this won’t sound exactly the same but is one of the first emulations of it I ever heard of – there is a more exotic hardware „double“ of it: Synlab Modularsystem modular,analog by Hofschneider which is not a clone but a re-configuration of it. found here: ARP2500 MaxMSP Emulation Demo from…

Connect a contact microphone to anything you want to „play“ – the software makes it like a real instrument, (Ircam / Bruno Zamborlin), that patch is (of course) a Max/MSP patch. here’s the same thing that uses speech samples and now the same on/with a phone – some water (virtually) splashing over it by tilting it and other nice things shown here..
