Does anyone know of a commercial hardware granular synth?
The only thing that comes close is the Kyma which is out of my reach.
Of course I could use a Sequencer to achieve similar results but that's just not the same as a dedicated piece of hardware.

So, any clues?

there are some small "hacks" on xp and mac.. which system are you on?

the best known should be crusher x ,imho.. thats pc only.

you CAN do something like granular with reaktor and www.sequencer.de/syns/clavia Clavia G2 as well..
sort of..

hardware? hmm, there are only sample granulaizers, in words, the http://www.sequencer.de/syns/roland Roland Vsynth.. but I assume thats not what you wanted?..

granular in a way..
but a real box..

maybe the www.sequencer.de/syns/clavia Clavia G2 with your own patch (I did one on it.. so it can "work"..)

and http://www.sequencer.de/syns/symbolicsound Kyma/Paca(rana)/Capybara of course.. the only REAL granular machine as Hardware..

A hardware granulaizer would be cool.

The V-Synth seems to be very interesting, but right now to expensive.

I wonder why no phrase sampler has some granular fx, or is there a phrase sampler that can do granular fx ?
A stripped down 4voice v-synth rack in a sp606 housing would be perfect.

@Moogulator: can you upload an audio example of your G2 patch ?

yeah ive been wondering about this for a while now.that would be pretty badass.i love granular stuff.ive never even heard of anything thats hardware.mabey you can use reason and a controller or something.but i know it wont be the same

This guy claims to have built a "really crude hardware granular synth" as a college work: http://www.algorhythms.co.uk/

It'd be cool if some company - like Yamaha, Korg, Roland, etc. - implemented this sort of synthesis in their products.
I'm sure many fans would go for it!

when there is time I can upload a vsynth mangled sound file and the g2 stuff.
the granualo patch is just a random trigger bank of bpfs that get their sounds from a single impulse, that can also be randomly triggered and its densitiy can be set..

I can put this one up in the patches section ..
atm I am happy about the map working now.. ;-)
