Div6 SQ816 Mattson Seq: Gate Controlled Mute

Hallo,

hier für alle eine Nachricht von Scott zur Kenntnis, auf meine Nachfrage zum Funktionieren des Gate Controlled Mute am Division-6 SQ816 Mattson Sequenzer:

If you look on the back of the sequencer's expansion board, there's a white 2-pin connector labeled "CNXD12". That's basically there to do fun extra stuff with. With the current firmware version, that's the Gate Controlled Mute input. If you connect a gate voltage to that input, it will mute the sequence stages until you release the gate again.

The easiest way to connect the feature up and use it is to unhook one of the wired jacks on the sequencer that you aren't using, (Gate X In is a good one, but Var X In, Var Out or even Footswitch would work) and connect it to CNXD12. Then the jack you rewired would be the Gate Controlled Mute jack. The white connectors pull right off of the pins, so it's fairly easy to switch back and forth.

What you do with this feature is up to your imagination, but you could mute stuff with a keyboard, foot pedal, LFO, touch-controller, another sequencer; basically anything that would give you a voltage you could use as the gate.

Wäre nett wenn du über den Mattson Sequencer noch ein wenig berichten könntest. In Europa ist er ja selten, aber du bist wohl ein glücklicher Besitzer. Kann er mehr als die gängigen Sequencer (Döpfer, Metropolis, etc. um bei Eurorack zu bleiben)?

Hi Synlog,

also den Mattson SQ816 habe ich nun schon eine Weile und er gefällt mir sehr gut. Für mich war ein Plus, das das Modul klein ist. Es bietet dennoch viele Möglichkeiten. 8 Step oder 16 Step. In Stufen wählbare Gate-Länge. Einzelausgänge je Step. Sieh mal ins Manual das ist so ganz aufschlussreich.

Unterstützung durch Div 6 ist sehr gut, ich war einige Male mit Scott in Kontakt und er hat immer rasch geantwortet und konnte mir auch stets helfen. Einmal ist der Seq abgestürzt, danach musste ich das OS via USB nochmal laden, hat aber alles gut geklappt. Es soll später noch softwareseitig Erweiterungen geben.

Ich habe das Modul letztes Jahr importiert, d.h. Wartezeit beim Zoll und rund 25% on top auf den Preis für Zoll und MwSt. Bei Andreas Schneider meines Wissens nach wie vor nicht erhältlich und bei Ulf von Escape from Noise Stockholm auch nicht.

Ich hab auch eben gerade auf amazona.de gesehen, es gibt einen neuen (digitalen) Eurorack Sequencer von AudioDamage namens Sequencer-1.

I have one and like it a lot (I am friends with George Mattson and Scott Rise of Division 6 so, maybe I'm biased but I don't think so! 8)
