Open Source Editor für Nord Modular (Java)

Ist nicht gerade "Neuigkeit des Tages", aber trotzdem: am 10. Juli ist das erste Pre-Release von NMedit herausgekommen:

Hi,

our first release of Nomad - Nord Modular Editor is now available.

You can download the release in the Files section:
Package: nomad
Release 0.2.1-pre

Please note that this is only a pre release and has several bugs and
limitations.
However you can do the most important operations:
- import patch file(s)
- export patch to a file
- send a patch to the synthesizer
- receive a patch from the synthesizer
- edit patch which exists in the synthesizer

See also the file 'README.txt' in the release.

Requirements:
-------------
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0
- platform: any

Starting Nomad:
---------------
You start Nomad with the command:
java -jar nomad.jar

Micro Modular users:
--------------------
Since none of us developers has a Micro Modular available for testing
we don't support this model at the moment. However you can try if
Nomad works with this model and supply us with feedback so that we
can make necessary changes to achive support.

Note: Before you use Nomad with the Micro Modular you have to ...

- open nomad/conf/application.xml in a text editor

- change the line
<entry>4</entry>
to
<entry>1</entry>

- save the file

Sauber... ich dachte schon, ich müsste nur wg. des NM-Editors WinDoze installieren.

Genau. Ich habe auch schon unnötig Zeit damit verschwendet, den Editor unter wine zum Laufen zu bekommen, aber das Übertragen der Patches auf den (ausgeliehenen) Micro Modular hat nicht so recht funktionieren wollen...

Und der NOMAD-Editor klappt mit dem Micromodular? Auf der Webseite steht, dass das mangels Besitz eines Micromodular nicht getestet werden konnte...

Ich bin da mal optimistisch
Wenn ich diese Woche noch an den Micro komme, versuche ich es mal. Habe noch keine Nachrichten gehört, darüber, ob es nun funktioniert oder nicht.

Habt ihr Nomad auf OSX getestet? Funktioniert schon alles wie es soll bei euch?

Glaube, Nomad hat zuletzt mit 10.6 funktioniert i.e. kein Gewinn über dem Clavia Binary.

Unter neuere OS gibt es zwei Lösungen, die ich (unter 10.8 bzw. jetzt 10.10) benutze:

- Snow Leopard (bzw. WinXP) Emulation unter VMWare Fusion. Virtual Box soll auch gehen, hat aber mir mir nicht so gut geklappt.

Installation dauert ca. 1 Stunde, läuft aber stabil. Manko: ich muss bei jedem Start das MIDI Interface neu adressieren und (noch nicht wissentschaftlich überprüft!) ich habe das Gefühl, in Verbindung mit Logic bzw. einem DAW gibt es das Problem, dass das DAW das MIDI Interface für sich kläut i.e. die progammier Verbindung zum NM kann verloren gehen.

Die VM Fusion Variante läuft bei mir am besten, keine ist aber 100%ig.
