iOS 4.2 – MIDI Handling to iDevices
very interesting new feature from apple will come in the next update for iDevices, it will contain MIDI and MIDI via USB handling. I did not really expect them to do that, so I am surprised. USB? yes, thats the connector on all of them. so in fact all iDevs got USB, the only Hardware-MIDI-Interface für iDevs is the one from Line6 (see Interface link below). So this may bring the Pads and Pods a pro-touch and control our synths & computers on a standard, which is good for us like in OS X.
UPDATE: itunes 10.1 bringt Neu in iTunes 10.1 / new itunes contains iOS4.2, so it will come soon:

Ein interessantes Feature wird iOS 4.2 bringen, Apple hat wirklich daran gedacht, offenbar ein OS-basierte MIDI-Handling einzubauen. Es gibt zwar noch nicht viele MIDI Interfaces, aber so wird ein iPad oder iPhone zum Sequencer oder Groovebox. Das OS unterstützt MIDI über USB jedoch auch, USB ist in den Anschluss an den Pads/Pods/Phones integriert.

ps, es gibt bereits Lösungen, aber vermutlich frickeliger als das offiziell zu tun – ps – there ARE solutions, but individual ones and maybe not with Jobs blessings
