Thunderbolt Audio Interface?. in addition to the Macbook Air Posting and the Mac / Audio situation – Apogee says Thunderbolt audio interfaces / soundcards will soon be available. High end products will come first. I doubt low end audio products will implement this standard – they will stick with USB IMHO. Apple setzt Signale: Firewire, neues altes MB wieder da mit. @ Forum.Sequencer.de. eng: Apple re-releases old macbook with FW (for us musicians with less money) but with graphics card. let’s see this as a sign to us – it’s only 2.0 GhZ but has quite nice GFX – So get one of these or much cooler ones next or end this year if you can wait. Neue FireWire-Spezifikationen versprechen vier mal größeren Datendurchsatz Könnte sehr interessant für Audiointerfaces sein, insbesondere von Firmen wie RME oder Motu. Sicher aber dann nicht sofort, eher in 2009. Tolle Aussicht wäre das sicher. Sicher werden die in den neuen Nehalem Macs noch nicht enthalten sein können, vielleicht aber in denen danach. Firewire gets 4times faster, that means for us: Cool new audio products in 2009 and again PCI becomes more and less attractive since you can run FW an almost all computers.
