Juht, nachdem mich Oszillatorgitarrist via PM fragte, hier mal die passenden Stellen aus dem Manual:

dass ich selbstverständlich keine Haftung dafür übernehme, wenn während der Prozedur irgendetwas unvorgesehenes geschieht,
welches zum Verlust von Daten oder zum Verlust des JP-8000 als "funktionierenden Synth" führt!
Alle User-Patches VOR dem Entfernen der alten Batterie mittels MIDI Dump sichern!
Vor dem Öffnen des JP unbedingt den Netzstecker ziehen!
Vor dem Test-Mode / Kalibrieren von Pitchbender und Ribbon die Bodenplatte wieder anbringen!!
Es ist nicht nötig, den Synth geöffnet zu lassen - dies birgt nur die Gefahr eines möglicherweise tödlichen Schocks @ 230Volt!
Das vorherige Sichern der Userdaten hat nichts damit zu tun, dass der Synth nach Wechsel der Batterie out-of-tune sein kann.
Vice versa: ein Zurückspielen der Userdaten löst das eventuell auftretende Problem
nicht.

Entering test mode
(1) Turn the power on while holding down [OSC2 SYNC] [-12dB/-24dB] and [FILTER TYPE].
(2) Test mode is now set and the memory test starts.

Exiting the test mode
Press [SHIFT/EXIT], then "Are you sure?" is displayed.
Press [WRITE] to exit the test mode, then factory data will be loaded.
Bender Set & Check
(Press [3] button.)
Display zeigt [3] Bend Mod ??? ???
Push the bender lever leftward fully and then gradually return it to the original position. Press [LOWER] button.
Push the bender lever rightward fully and then gradually return it to the original position. Press [UPPER] button.
Push the bender lever to the MOD position and then gradually return it to the original position. Press [KEY MODE] button.
' * ' mark appears on LCD, then press [UP] button.
' * ' mark changes to " <->" mark.
Are the following values obtained when the bender lever is moved all the way to the left and right?
lever value -256 left / 0 center / 255 right
if NO > Press the [3] button and readjust (...)
if YES:
Set the bender lever to MOD position and retur it to the original position.
Does the MOD value increase to 127 and then return to zero (0)?
if NO > Press the [3] button and readjust (...)
if YES:
Bender adjustment is complete. Press [4] button to start 'Adjusting Ribbon Sensor'.
[4] Ribbon OFF is shown on the LCD.
Press the [LOWER] button while pressing down on a point about 9mm from the left edge of the ribbon sensor.
Press the [UPPER] button while pressing down on a point about 9mm from the right edge of the ribbon sensor.
Press the [KEY MODE] button while pressing down on the center point of the ribbon sensor.
' * ' mark is shown on LCD, then press [UP] button.
' * ' mark changes to " <->" mark.
Are the following values obtained when the ribbon sensor is moved manually all the way to the right and left?
left edge point value 0 / center 127 / right edge 254
if NO: Press [4] button and then readjust
if YES: Ribbon sensor adjustment is completed.
Exiting the test mode
Press [SHIFT/EXIT], then "Are you sure?" is displayed.
Press [WRITE] to exit the test mode, then factory data will be loaded.
Welche Bauteile überprüft werden sollten, wenn einer der Tests trotz readjustment nicht zum Erfolg führt, hab ich mal ausgelassen.
Bei Torstens JP, den ich hier hatte, konnte ich den Ribbon tatsächlich nicht so einstellen, wie beschrieben. Mag daran liegen, dass
der Synth jetzt auch schon ca. 12 Jahre alt ist und er Ribbon ausgetauscht werden könnte. Aber er funktioniert.
Das wichtigste war eh, den Bender zu kalibrieren, denn wiegesagt: die Kiste war mächtig out-of-tune...
Ach ja, hab die anderen Test Modi nicht auch noch abtippen wollen: Finger weg!
Bitte nicht aus Neugierde irgendwas starten, wo ihr dann aus Versehen Settings verändert, die ihr nicht wieder hinbekommt!
