RME Fireface UFX – besser und schöner und livetauglicher

Keine Atomkraft von RME Auch wenn wir nicht allzu viel über Recording schreiben, sei der Nachfolger des Fireface erwähnt. Es bietet 60 Kanäle an, welche mit Firewire 400 oder USB 2.0 latenzarm transportiert werden. RME FIREFACE UFX Verglichen mit dem Vorgänger bekommt ein Display und zieht mit MOTU gleich, da man alle Funktionen nun auch am Gerät erledigen kann. Außerdem gibt es interne Effekte, was für den Live-Betrieb gedacht ist, welche auch Motu seit dem 828Mk3 anbieten. Die DSPs reichen aus, um gut 3/4 aller Kanäle mit Equalizern und Kompressoren…

Lion also OS X 10.7. wird 29€ kosten, nur über den Appstore ab Juli. 4GB download. KEINE DVD und „Kein Reboot nach Installation“ – hmm. Keine neuen Funktionen seit der bekannten Vorstellung vor ein paar Monaten. Aber praktischer und durchaus nützlich im Handling ist es schon sehr. Abschied von einer Menge alter Editoren und Software aus Musikersicht sicher ein Problem (Sounddiver, div. MIDI Editoren..) – da PPC und älterer Code abgekündigt. 32Bit und PPC und damit auch die Dualcore Intels werden übrigens eh von Lion nicht unterstützt. Die frühen Intel-Books…

Novation Automap is at 3.74 now

I skipped some versions from 3.7 – but 3.7 is up now, so there’s lots of bug fixes and it’s more compatible, since I currently got 2 Novation Devices it’s strange, that it still only recognises one of those but realises 2. hmm, let’s try.. they say – reboot before starting it. recently I got some problems with the SL and Live showing the parameter names of plugins like before. will check this out now. Tiger isn’t supported anymore btw. be sure to be on Snow Leopard (Leopard makes no…
