MOTU Mach 5.1 Synth and Sampling

Motu upgraded their Mach5 Sampler plugin. it looks a lot like a competitor to Kontakt now, but it is a full blown synth, not just a player for sampler – it features an FM synth, wavetables and a special IRCAM granular engine like this: a lot of synths now come with different noise types like Massive has or the Casio XWP1/G1 noises it is not just about white and pink – but (possibly sampled) ones: a new reverb, new filter types. multi segment envelopes are also in here as well…

this is a CTRLR Patch for editing the Waldorf Microwave XTk , Microwave XT Digital Synthesizer, of course it can not access the Waves and Tables since they are higher SysEx commands, but this one looks nice to use. looks like a lot of work, tho‘ update: since it is not exactly free check the site – the demo is free! .. see comment! it’s here: monstrumMedia note: update for the Wolfgang Palm App „Wavegenerator“, since it’s about Wavetables – the features look very interesting.

(yeah!! to this title, blog name and slogan btw!) – well they are from norway and did a simple club track using it with no special video footage in, but well – it is free at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pxu – so you can try and use it yourself. Dieses Video auf YouTube ansehen as they say „including mastering effects used on his latest release „Global Praises“, with a whooping -~3.6dB RMS average master. Completely clean!“

on the 21.st there will be a free Minimoog V version up for everyone. the „original“ addition means, that it is really just „the mini“, no additions, as we know and love Arturia for – but it has the same sound as the minimoog V and you can use it for free – so why not checking it out, then…? The update will include the following improvements: – looks like the slicer will still be a bit dull, they should look at Geist from FXpansion how to use and process slices, anyway not bad to have time stretching – My personal comment 2 refering to my own performances: The LFO is still 18 Hz, which is far below standard, should be 100Hz minimum, and please add multicore support, after that there’s a lot improved, aaand – say you have a slice programmed to play and remove it in the chase…

you need to register, but it’s free. this is a synth, that samples a sounds (looks like it is sort of algorithmically?) so you can say it instantly samples any sound and „converts“ it into something playable without being a real audio sample actually. sounds strange? the last time I heard about things like this was, when Technos Acxel Digital Synthesizer was released – but does not look exactly like it – don’t know what „they“ have used (Stefan Schmitt, the founder of NI programmed it). – so maybe try it out ..
