Ich hab mich mal auf die Warteliste setzen lassen.
Gestern erfuhr ich von der netten Barbara, dass ich wahrscheinlich Mitte 2016 mit einem Gerät rechnen könne.
Na da wart ich halt etwas.

Selbst mit OS 0.81 bin ich schon sehr zufrieden mit der Pyramide.

Egal welchen Track ich nun auswähle und somit auf einem anderen MidiKanal sende, Regler 1 sendet weiterhin cc #15 auf USB Midi Kanal 3.
Etwas ernüchternd fand ich den Euklidmode, der immer nur auf eine Tonhöhe zur Zeit wirken kann, also eigentlich nur für schnell mal eben eine Drumspur erstellen gedacht ist.
Die ausgefeilten Akkord-Modi haben mich überrascht und bieten somit eine schöne Synergie mit dem Cirklon, zu dem es erfreulich wenig Überlappungen gibt. Z.B. finde ich die Midizuweisungen beim Cirklon nervig, weil man dort die cc´s nur in 1er-Schritten durchscrollen kann. Bei der Pyramide drückt man den 2nd-Taster (der für viele Funktionen als Shift-Kombinator dient) und scrollt Listen dann in 10er Schritten durch. Etwas wozu sich Colin noch nicht durchgerungen hat zu implementieren.
Überhaupt heisst es auch DER Cirklon (oder sagt jemand die Cirklon?) und DIE Pyramide und ergänzen sich schon rein sprachlich. (und nein, ich bin nicht homophob)
Das handling insgesamt ist einfacher als ich es mir vorgestellt habe. Die Draufleg-Schablone habe ich nach 1-2 Stunden nicht mehr gebraucht.
Falls jemand spezifische Fragen hat, können wir sie ja innerhalb der nächsten Woche sammeln und dann mache ich ein Antwort-Video am nächsten Wochenende.

Ist schon ein mächtiges Teil mit einem interessanten Ansatz und ungewöhnlichen Möglichkeiten.
Trotzdem bin ich bereit meinen Pyramid nach ein paar Tagen Testbetrieb durchzureichen:
er sollte bei mir den Gap zwischen Schrittmacher und Compi schließen. Aber ich merke, dass ich dann doch eher zum Rechner wechsle und da macht das konzeptbedingt keinen Sinn hier. Zwei Sequenzerpferde brauche ich dann nicht wirklich. Wer heiß ist, darf sich gerne per PN an mich wenden.

Hab jetzt übers Wochenende auch etwas Zeit mit dem Pyramid verbringen können und schliesse mich HerrJan an. Ich hoffe, dass noch ein paar Verbesserungen im Edit-Workflow kommen. Ich fände es zB gut, wenn die Encoder und das Touchpad im Step-Mode immer auch für Edit-Zwecke verwendet werden könnten. Ohne diese "drück 2 Tasten und dreh am Hauptencoder-Shortcuts". Sind etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Beim Umschalten der Time-Signature wird auch die Metric angepasst, was bei bereits vorhandenen Patterns IMO nicht unbedingt zum gewünschten Ergebnis führt. Da sollten sie wirklich noch nachbessern. Im Moment bleibt einfach die Sequenz so wie sie in den Track-MIDI-Daten steht erhalten, nur halt mit anderer Metric. Ich hätte das aber gerne so, dass die Sequenz bei anderer Timesignature auch die vorhandene Noten entsprechend in den MIDI-Daten umschreibt, also entsprechend schneller oder langsamer wird. Hoffe das geht... ich bin auf jeden Fall in Kontakt mit den Entwicklern und die sind super nett!

Schade, es könnte so einfach sein(wie im Octatrack z.B.), so interessiert mich persönlich die Kiste für den stolzen Preis null.
Das können imho auch diverse andere, günstigere Kisten.

eine Chordfolge, 4 Takte
eine Melodie, 16 Takte
ein Arpeggio, 5 Takte
jetzt läuft das so dahin, die Meldoie ist gemutet, die soll nur ab und zu kommen
woher weiss ich aber dann, an welcher Stelle der 16 Takte der Melodie ich bin ?
Wird das visualisiert, also wie Blöcke, die von rechts nach links ablaufen?

Achso, du willst wissen, wann die Melodei wieder auf die Eins kommen soll. Mehrere Möglichkeiten:
- im Track Display den Balken im Aug behalten, vor der Eins unmuten.
- den Melodietrack auswählen, du siehst dann auf fast allen Screens in welchem Bar du bist.
- Du machst dir Sequences, dann startet die Melodie nach dem quantisierten Unmute sowieso auf die Eins.

Ich glaub du interpretierst das Sequencerprinzip falsch. Der Pyramid Sequencer im "normalen" Note-Step-Mode ist immer polyphon. Du wählst mit dem Encoder die Note (oder per Shortcut auf der Mini-Tastatur) und gibst dann diese Noten im Step-Raster ein. Notenlängen etc. gehen on-the-fly. Was nicht geht ist, Akkorde auf einem Keyboard halten und dann einen Step drücken, dafür gibts die Akkord-Funktion, womit du dir Akkordfolgen vorher zurechtlegst und dann einfach die Steps setzt. Wenn du dann wieder in den normal Step-Edit Mode schaltest, kannst du auch einzelne Noten bearbeiten. Das ist vlt. nicht so instant-live wie ein JX3P, aber dafür kannst du alles machen, also Notenüberlappungen, "richtiges" Midi-Sequencing halt. Aja, die polyphone Note-Step-Eingabe (man sieht in den steps immer nur die aktuell gewählte Note) kann auch jederzeit per Rec-Button in einen Mono-Mode geschalten werden. D.h. die Steps repräsentieren dann alle vorhandenen Noten am Raster. Praktisch zur Mono-Eingabe, aber auch zum schnelleren Editieren von Poly-Sequenzen. Ziemlich genial eigentlich...Xpander-Kumpel schrieb:

Der Circuit ist im Vergleich zu dem was der Pyramid kann näher bei einem SQ-1 oder Beatstep Pro. Der Pyramid ist ein vollwertiger MIDI-Sequencer. Also wirklich vollwertig, so wie das in den 80ern/90ern gedacht wurde und nicht das abgespeckte Zeug seit den 00er Jahren...

● Saving an existing project creates a backup file in the SD card, for example “BACKUP_PROJECT1”, to always keep an old version of your project.

● Settings > Misc > Rec Countdown (off, current track, midi channel xx): activate a countdown before a recording in live mode, and choose on which midi channel the countdown (made with midi notes) is generated.
● Settings > Misc > CC Assign (autorec off, autorec on): with autorec on, as soon as you assign a CC control and move it to set the value, an automation message is created to store this value (you can display it or remove it in stepmode CC MESSAGES). This message will be sent at the start of the track, so your synthesizer will always have the right set value.

● Settings > Misc > Default track (mode free, mode relatch, mode trig): set the default run mode of new tracks.
● Settings > Misc > Popup Assign (on click, on rotate): to display the assigned encoder popup when you click one of the 5 encoders, or when you rotate it.
● Settings > Misc > Touchpad Relatch (no relatch, relatch value): if no relatch selected, the touchpad (assigned X or Y position) will keep it's last set value. If a value is selected (for example 0), the touchpad will send back this value when the touchpad is released.

Bug corrections:
- Problem with relatch unmute tracks that become unsync
- Touchpad improvements
- Sequence can't be created when you select a new sequence and you create a track
- When you create a new track, this track is active on all sequences
- "go to the nearest note" is not fully working
- Popup ENCODER ASSIGN blinking
- Problem with loading some old projects
- Lot of rare PyraOs error fixes
- Smartpads scale display wrong notes on the scale

- Now you can change the track run modes in all modes
- New you can hard rec with the footswitch pedal
- Now the last used mode is saved in the SD card
- Improved midi countdown "sound"
- Scale FX: now you can set a chromatic scale
- Now random FX (e.g. CHANCE, ARP, HUMANIZER, RANDOM) are using a true random generator.
Screen:
- New FX selection display
- New standard: muted tracks are always "dotted" on the screen
