Meine Fresse, sieht der gut aus und klingt auch noch so. Super Zug von Yamaha mit den Namensrechten, wirklich großartig - Pro 2 freut sich auf Gesellschaft, das könnte mein Exit-Synth werden... ;-)

Vintage with a Modern Twist

The Prophet-6 is Dave Smith’s tribute to the poly synth that started it all—the Sequential Prophet-5. But it’s not simply a reissue of a classic. Rather, as Dave puts it, “It’s the result of our effort to build the most awesome-sounding, modern analog poly synth possible.” The Prophet-6 takes the best qualities of the original Prophet-5—true voltage-controlled oscillators, filters, and amplifiers—and adds enhancements such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and more. The result is pure, unadulterated analog tone with the stability and reliability of a state-of-the-art modern synth.
Classic Tone, Classic Vibe

Central to the warm, punchy sound of the Prophet-6 are its two newly-designed, discrete voltage-controlled oscillators (plus sub-oscillator) per voice. Continuously variable waveshapes provide the tonal palette with triangle, sawtooth, and variable-width pulse waves. There are two discrete filters per voice—a four-pole, resonant, low-pass inspired by the original Prophet-5 filter, and a two-pole, resonant, high-pass filter. Voltage-controlled amplifiers complete the all-analog signal path.
Dual Effects

The dual effects section provides studio-quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus and phase shifter. While the effects themselves are digital, with 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution, a true bypass maintains a full analog signal path. There’s also an independent stereo distortion effect, which is 100% analog.
Poly Mod and Poly Step Sequencing

Also present from its classic predecessor is a Poly Mod section, with enhancements. True to the original, modulation sources are filter envelope and oscillator 2 (both with bi-polar control). Destinations include oscillator 1 frequency, oscillator 1 shape, oscillator 1 pulse width, low-pass filter cutoff, and high-pass filter cutoff. Another welcome reprise is Unison mode, which features configurable voice count (1-6 voices) and key modes. The polyphonic step sequencer allows up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create sequences polyphonically, with rests, and sync to an external MIDI clock. The full-featured arpeggiator can be synced to external MIDI clock as well.
Easy to Program

The knob-per-function front panel offers instant access to virtually all Prophet-6 functions. Included are 500 permanent factory programs in 10 banks of 100 programs. In addition to these, you can create and save up to 500 user programs of your own. Toggling off the Preset button enables live panel mode, in which the sound of the Prophet-6 switches to the current settings of its knobs and switches. In this state, what you see is what you hear.
Easy to Play

All of this awe-inspiring sound is packed into a four octave, semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch that’s an ideal combination portability and power for the project studio or the gigging musician.

Für mich bis jetzt das Gerät mit dem grössten Habenwill-Faktor dieser NAMM.
Hoffentlich klingt der auch so schön, wie er aussieht.

Das wär doch was, ein Synth wo man unter- oder oberhalb "modulweise" Octaven anstückeln kann....... :lol:
Na ja, und 6 Stmmen, vielleicht ist da hinten eine Buchse wo man zu Simmenvermehrung noch was einstöpseln kann.
Für Sergej Rachmaninov ist die Kiste jedenfalls nicht geeignet, esseidenn man hat 2 Stück übereinander.............

Als Dave Smith den Pro 2 vorstellte, hatte ich gleich das Gefühl, dass der Synth was ganz Besonderes wird. Blind bestellt, was ich sonst wirklich nie mache - und es ist ein Volltreffer. Hier bin ich mir noch viel sicherer, das wird ein All Time Favorite, ein Klassiker!

sehr sexy - wenn der nicht von dave so plattgebürstet wurde wie die anderen sachen ist das ne echte willensprüfung. da mir keiner der dave-synths vom klang der vco´s und filter nur annäherd glaubhaft vermitteln konnte warum ich das nicht auch mit plugins machen könnte (nutze keine weil ich den rechner auslasse zum mucken) wage ich aber auch hier erstmal sehr zweifelnd zu sein.


klingts wie SCI bin ich sehr interessiert _ klingts nach dave werf ich für guten analogen sound doch lieber meinen virusTI an :mrgreen:


weine immer noch meinem proone nach :?

Geht mir auch so, aber Filter ist diskret, VCOs auch, neue Schaltungen. Das Demo klingt in meinen Ohren auch deutlich besser als was ich bis jetzt so von DSI kenne..

Frage: hatte der Prophet 5 nicht integrierte Schaltkreise für VCO und VCF? War da nicht stets die Diskussion wegen Chips, die nicht mehr hergestellt werden?

Und jetzt mit dem neuen Prophet 6 soll jede Stimme diskret aufgebaut sein?

Und was heisst eigentlich "diskret aufgebauter Schaltkreis" genau? Sind das nicht auch maschinell hergestellte Platinen mit Miniwiderständen/kondensatoren/dioden, die direkt auf der Platine angebracht sind (also ohne Drähte)? Zwar keine IC's, aber dennoch nicht reparabel mit Lötkolben? Diese Frage stelle ich mir auch bei Eurorackmodulen, wo gelegentlich auch von diskret aufgebauter Schaltung gesprochen und in der Regel gerne mal das doppelte des Preises verlangt wird im Vergleich zu den Modulen mit IC's. Oder auch das neue Audiointerface von Arturia das mit diskret aufgebauten Preamps wirbt.

Und wenn bei einem Fehler dann doch die ganze Voicecard ausgewechselt werden müsste, was ist dann der Vorteil? Höhere Entwicklungskosten für IC's?

Im Prophet-5 werkelten CEMs und SSMs (rev2 Filter)
Diskret aufgebaut war nur der OB-X (nicht Xa)

Sorry, diskret muss nicht gleich besser heissen. Klingt aber trotzdem deutlich anders, insofern ich das auf youtube videos beurteilen kann. Einen Prophet 5 würd ich gerade wegen den Chips nicht mehr kaufen. Da wären mir die Service Kosten einfach zu hoch..

Edit: Davon haben mir auch ein paar eingefleischte Prophet-5 Servicetechniker davon abgeraten. Und wenn mein Servicetechniker des Vertrauens mir das so sagt, dann glaub ich ihm das auch ;-)

Klar wird das der Pro 2 auch. Mein Prophet 08 muss für den Prophet 6 gehen. Eiserne Regel: kommt was Neues, geht was Vorhandenes- schnief. Kaufe und vor allem Verkaufe ja nicht so viel. Was für eine Kombi: Pro 2/Prophet 6 :adore:
