Dann warte halt, bis die Leute merken, dass es doch ein bisschen viel war und sie eigentlich doch lieber mit xy arbeiten und dann noch merken, dass der Wiederverkaufspreis den sie sich vorstellen einfach niemand bezahlen wird und schon wird es irgendwo auch mal einen für die Hälfte geben. Kommt drauf an, was du willst und brauchst. 8Dio ist bekannt für recht großzügigen Umgang mit GBs, was bei Software nicht ungewöhnlich ist. Ich schätze mal, dass Meister Smith überlegt hat, wie er viel für wenig kriegt, um das Instrument aus dem Stand spektakulär zu vermarkten. 150 GB ist eine Ansage wie ein 280 Gramm Rindersteak, medium well, da hagelt es keine Kritik schon im Vorfeld, das ist erstmal dem Heizdeckenverkäufer so ohne weitere Nachfrage abgenommen. Das Choir-Demo weiter unten belegt die Datenmenge schonmal nicht, aber das merkt keiner. Das was man als Choir hört, kommt wahrscheinlich mit etwa 20 MB aus, vielleicht auch weniger. Hantieren die 8Dios so wie die NIs, dann verbraten die 200 dafür. Aber das ist ein anderes Thema.

Die DSI Sampleplayer Engine ist, auch ohne ihr auf den Zahn zu fühlen, garantiert ein Knaller. Die macht auch aus 2 MB Samples einen echt geilen Sound, das brauche ich nichtmal auszuprobieren. Insofern ist für Forumleute wie hier die Import Option mit Sicherheit das bessere Kaufargument, auch wenn man gegen mitgelieferte 8Dio Samples kaum meckern muss. Kommt jetzt allenfalls auf den Komfort an, wie man die da reinkriegt, ich hoffe mal es ist nicht allzu umständlich. Dann kann der neue Prophet der neue Nordwave im Geiste sein. Allerdings würde ich zuvor noch gerne genaueren Einblick in die Abteilung Wavesequence und Modulation haben, bevor es da Vorschusslorbeeren gibt. Ha, irgendwie hat es der alte Sack Smith mal wieder geschafft, das ist zumindest mein erster Eindruck. Coole Socke halt.

Poly Step Sequencing
The polyphonic step sequencer provides up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create a different sequence for each layer if working in stacked or split voice mode, making it a powerful tool for composition or performance. Sequences can have ties and rests, and can sync to an external MIDI clock. The arpeggiator features note repeats, re-latching, and can be synced to external MIDI clock, as well.

Two Effects per Layer

Nein. Man hält je Instrument/Sample die Stretch-Taste gedrückt und dann schlägt man eine Taste an, die darüber bestimmt, nach welchem Notenwert sich das Stretching richtet.
 
Oh, da gibt es zwischen Quantum und Prophet X scheinbar doch eine Gemeinsamkeit.... :mrgreen:

würde sagen - es ist ansich ein P08 mit samples und auch mit dem nötigsten für sample abspielen -

kann man loops einstellen und alt loops machen oder rückwärts? das ist hier nicht so zu sehen. aber das wäre schon ein beginn eines echten Samples mit Knöpfen, so wie das sein soll und immer hätte sein sollen.

die anderen heißen also: Sledge, Blofeld, Quantum - die ersten beiden spielen aber wirklich nur ab, Nord Wave gibts ja nicht mehr, also - wir haben wieder "Sampler" im Sinne von Performance. Denke das eigentliche Rennen machen dann wohl SCI und Waldorf.

Es ist nicht einfach ein P08 oder Rev2 mit Samples, denn die Filter sind andere und liegen hier in einer Stereo-Konfiguration vor, wie beim Evolver, mit dem Unterschied, dass sich hier alle Instrumente/Samples und Oszillatoren frei pannen lassen.

Mit Samples kann man machen:
Start und Endpunkt festlegen und modulieren, Loop-Mittelpunkt verschieben und modulieren, Loop-Länge modulieren, rückwärts abspielen und stretchen nach Notenwerten.

Diese Optionen sind für's Grobe ausgerichtet. Das hier will kein Sampler für granulare Synthese oder mikroskopisch genaues Arbeiten sein, darüber muss man sich im Klaren sein.

Ah, also genau so wie vermutet.
Danke! Das ist doch was. Ja, ist schon klar, dass das kein P08 exakt 1:1 ist sondern nur grob - will damit sagen - Ringmod/FM fehlt, einfache OSCs aber alles was das Ding hat ist faktisch mehr als alles - weil es noch nie einen Sampler mit Knöpfen gab. Find ich super, dass es den gibt, auch wenn er nicht "alles" kann.

Vermutlich ist das auch nicht Transwave-tauglich sondern man kann es halt einstellen und bisschen was machen, keine Synthesized Loops aber immerhin gibt es Loops und man kann sie bisschen modulieren, und das ist schon wirklich mal was, was in HW mal lange lange nie da war. Wie oft haben wir hier gepostet, sowas mal zu bauen!

FM ist im Grunde machbar, ist jedoch handelsüblich exponentiell, nicht linear. Aber Instrumente und Oszillatoren können Modulationsquellen sein und die Frequenz beider kann Modulationsziel sein. Außerdem lässt sich natürlich das Filter frequenzmodulieren. Man kann also ein Sample die Filterfrequenz modulieren lassen. Und in der Modulationsmatrix ist auch noch eine Rauschquelle als Modulationsquelle versteckt.

Alles kann der Prophet X nicht, das wäre auch gegen die DSI-Philosophie in erster Linie Performance-freundliche Instrumente zu bauen. Außerdem hasst Dave Workstations. Bei den Instrumenten soll nichts in Arbeit ausarten, ergo sind sämtliche Limitierungen so gewollt. Das heißt konkret, dass dies hier nichts für Sample-Nerds ist, das war aber auch nie so beabsichtigt. Es geht genau um das, was Du beschrieben hast.

Gespannt sein darf man jedoch darauf, in welcher Form es eine App geben wird, mit der sich die User-Samples erstellen lassen werden und ob man sich damit auch eigene Multi-Samples erstellen kann.
 
Das war doch dieses Autoradio-Universal-Knopf-Raster - sowas meine ich sicher nicht. Außerdem war das eine Workstation.
War mir aber zu schwurbelig, gibts ja nicht mehr - nee, für heute ist das schon richtig als Ansatz. Weniger sollte man nie wieder machen "dürfen".

Zeit ist zu kurz für schlecht gemachte Instrumente - und die alten Sampler hatten das alle nicht - ALLE! Außer vielleicht dieses eine Dingens-Exotenteil und der S612 mit den Fadern.
Wie auch immer - es muss mehr sowas passieren.

Dann klingt halt demnächst alles nach 8DIO, wenigstens mal ein bisschen anders als Nord. Jetzt noch der ultimative Quantum Vergleich (vom ersten Kaffee):

Prophet X hat 8 Stimmen Stereo (die sich auf 16 Mono umschalten lassen). Quantum hat 8 Stimmen Stereo. Ich zähle bei beiden also 16 analoge Filter, richtig?
 
Nur ein 24 dB Filter ist für so eine Sampleplayback Maschine schon ein bisschen dünn. Mit dem Quantum ist der X nicht vergleichbar,da völlig anderer Ansatz und Dave liefert gleich das ganze Brett:) da war der Quantum bisher ziemlich dünn.

Hm.... Also ich bin Zwiegespalten...

Endlich macht mal jemand das, was in mir schon länger brodelte, warum macht niemand einen Synth mit Sample Player Funktion und das mehr als 1GB oder so.... Seitdem ich den V-Synth besitze, schwebt genau das in mir vor.... Jetzt kommt ne kleine Firma mal wieder um die Ecke und macht sowas...

8DIO: Schlechter Partner, ganz schlechten Ruf in der Branche... Naja, wenn er meint... Ich steh auch nicht auf den 8DIO Sound, liegt vielleicht aber auch daran das ich immer im Hinterkopf habe, wen Troels schon alles verklagen wollte und auch sogar hat...

Also ich bin mittlerweile recht sicher, daß der PX nichts für mich ist.

Habe in der Deluge ja schon 32G Samplespeicher, die ich niemals nicht voll bekomme, was soll ich da mit 200G ? Auslagerung der Sample-Sammlung?
Machen kann ich da mit den Samples daselbe was der PX auch kann - und sogar noch viel viel mehr...

Ok, habe natürlich nicht die Optik, Anfassqualität, das Renommè, und sicher auch mancherorts nicht die Bedienung.
Aber was mich betrifft, nutze ich das überhaupt?
Nö, so gut wie nie, gegen Sample Abspielgeräte habe ich seit den ersten Samplern in den 80ern eine Abneigung, habe da immer das Gefühl mir vorgesetzten Kram einzusetzen, mag ich nicht.

Irgendwas wo ich -zusätzlich- zu einem "fantastischen Synth", Samples so richtig verwursten -und zusammen- mit dem Synth bearbeiten und einsetzen kann, DAS wäre ein Synth/Sampler für mich. Und nicht ein Sample Player, welcher mit Dave's Gnaden, evtl. nächstes Jahr auch eigene Samples abspielen können darf...

Nach der ersten "wow" Überraschung ist der Quantum -für mich- jetzt doch wieder vorne.

Ich muss noch mal fragen zur Sicherheit - also 8 stimmig Stereo, aber eine Stimme kann aus zwei Stereosamples plus zwei OSC's bestehen?
