Die Taster-Anordnung erinnert ein bisschen an Yamaha DX-Serie.

Nach dem was man so im Netz findet, ist das wohl ein customized Yamaha DX100 für das Konzert in Houston 1986. Demnach sind wohl die ersten fünf Tasten sowie die Volume und Data Entry Fader mit den Wheels entfernt worden.

Das ist, wie oben schon geschrieben, ein gekürzter DX 100. Das Teil sollte mit ins All. Michel Geiss hat dazu auf Facebook geschrieben:

The idea was to ask astronaut Ron McNair to play a melody in the Challenger shuttle and transmit it live during the concert. The DX-100 was a bit too big to fit in the available space. To shorten it, Patrick Pelamourgues, the studio assistant, sawed off the left side. In the end, NASA did not give RonMcNair permission to take it with him. He had been allowed to take his saxophone which accompanied him to the stars.
